The Idaho Falls Chukars will take on the Boise Hawks in their first home exhibition game Saturday, May 20.
The gates open at 6 p.m., with the game starting at 7:05. Tickets are $11 and are available on the Chukars’ website.
“We are excited for our fans to get the chance to see the Chukars on the field for the first time this season,” said Will Vasseur, a sales and marketing intern for the Chukars. “The Chukars are a tradition within Southeastern Idaho and we are excited to get this entertaining 2023 season underway.”
The Chukars’ regular season home opener is Friday, May 26 — against the Hawks once again.
On Thursday, May 18, the team will hold Fan Fest, where the public can meet players, get autographs, play games and win prizes. The event will be from 5-7 p.m. at Melaleuca Field.
The Chukars have played in the Pioneer Baseball League, an official partner league of the MLB, since 1940. They’ve been directly affiliated with a number of different MLB teams — most recently the Kansas City Royals from 2004-2020. It’s the only professional sports team in Eastern Idaho.
