Local skier places third at Junior World Championship in Austria

Wyatt Gentry, a 16-year-old skier from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, won a bronze medal in the Freeride World Tour Junior Championship Tuesday.

The Freeride World Junior Championship took place in Kappl, Austria, with competitors from all over the world. Athletes competed in men’s and women’s freestyle skiing and snowboarding.

Gentry placed third in men’s skiing behind Canadian Marcus Goguen and German Tiemo Rolshoven. The event is available to watch on YouTube.

Gentry has seen success in several events this season, with second-place finishes at both the Grand Targhee IFSA Junior National Championship in Wyoming and the Snowbird IFSA Junior National Championship in Utah.
