BYU-Idaho Center Stage will welcome the Nashville Tribute Band to Rexburg on Friday. Tickets for the event went on sale Jan. 3 and cost $10 for students and $15 for the general public.

Those who attend will have the opportunity to enjoy the band’s original Christian music.

“They do a fantastic job of telling a story that helps you visualize what’s happening while bringing a sweet spirit with each song,” said Nicole Van Alfen, a student majoring in interdisciplinary studies.

Jason Deere, an award-winning songwriter and producer, and Dan Truman, a recording artist, started the band in 2005. Since then they have been joined by Chad Truman, Tim Gates, Brad Hull and Ben Truman.

The band has released nine albums that have charted in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Gospel Charts.

According to the band’s website, Jason Deere said, “What began as a heart project grew to something much bigger than any of us.”

Their albums revisit familiar Christian stories and offer new perspectives. Their music has influenced many, including missionaries.

“Nashville Tribute Band’s music helped me so much on my mission,” said Julia Vivas, a Center Stage Assistant. “I’m excited to see them live and remember all of those great times.”

They have performed across the United States as well as in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and China.
