In the first game of 2023 at Melaleuca Field, the Idaho Falls Chukars beat the Boise Hawks 3-1.

Trevor Halsema, Mark Herron and Matt Rodriguez scored for the Chukars, giving them a 3-0 lead by the bottom of the seventh inning. At the top of the ninth, Kole Kaler came home for the Hawks, but it was too little too late.

The Chukars get set to host the Idaho Falls Bandits, the local AA American Legion team, in their 11th-annual “Field of Angels” charity game. Free tickets for the game are available at Teton Auto Group locations and Brady’s.

Following Monday’s game, the Chukars visit the Hawks in Boise for three games, then return to Idaho Falls for a nine-game home stand starting Friday, May 26.
