The East Idaho Fly Tying and Fly Fishing Expo is set to return to Idaho Falls this spring. The event will include a multitude of interactive activities for all ages.

The expo will take place at Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls on Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25. It will run from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. This is the 27th annual expo, although it has not happened the past three years.

More than 100 experts in the fly tying field, including national award winners, will demonstrate techniques and speak about fly fishing destinations. There will be workshops on tying and casting for all ages, including women’s and youth-specific workshops.

For the first time ever, this year’s expo will feature a casting pod where the public can test rods before buying them.

The event is a fundraiser for the Snake River Cutthroats, Idaho Falls Chapter for both Trout Unlimited and Fly Fishers International. The Cutthroats’ mission is to support habitat conservation and education. This is their sole fundraising event.

The evening events include an exclusive screening of Fly Fishing Film Tour on Friday and a banquet with raffles along with live and silent auctions on Saturday.

Admission is free to the public, but the evening events will cost a fee. Tickets can be purchased at Jimmy’s All Seasons Angler at 275 A St. in Idaho Falls or over the phone at 208-524-7160.
